DIFFA Dining by Design

knit environment

We worked in collaboration with Barry Richards, Jenny Kim, and Studio D at the Rockwell Group on two interactive pieces for the knit environment they designed for the DIFFA Dining by Design event.

Studio D and the Interaction Lab at Rockwell Group

Mary Jeys performed live at the event. The interactive piece that we did connected the knitting needles to wires which triggered sounds from a computer as the needles touched while knitting.

The second piece was reactive glasses which used capacitive sensing to fade lights in and out when held by a guest. We used a mini-arduino which is like a tiny arduino (just like).
